In HIS Service
Opening old volumes can be breathtaking. You covertly anticipate the revelation of a mystery while being caught breathless from the must of time. But sacred, important wisdom is not often captured in only one place. Fact: God is evident everywhere we look. The rise of the sun, feeding life on the earth; harmonies of purpose in creatures sounding their call, even to a most essential bee, with the supportive community it builds. Life is a weave of creation and happenstance. Our eyes flutter in the morning, first, because His design is perfect. Stepping through His creation, feeling the palm of His presence as wind caresses your soul; we walk in His glory. All exist because of one Word.
Full of splendor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever. - Psa 111:3
Nature is intricate by His design. There are times of bountiful grace and those of destructive turbulence. Our lives experience nothing less. Regardless of the moment’s struggle, the design of life remains. After passage of pain, a tested limb extends. But with restored vigor, new life takes hold. A deliberate root keeps its growth and pushes through the unsettling darkness. Combatting the persistent insecurities of weakness, we take strength knowing a perfect plan has been made to assure each and every one of us.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. - Rom 8:28
To be showered in His glory is liberating and fulfilling. What more could a true gratifyingly subservient heart desire?
On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. - Psa 145:5
The most critical answer has been given! Our purpose seems simple. In affirmation, a quick glance back recalls an earliest tale. We remember a paradise, an audience, a trust that was shared in our Father. He would walk, unwavering, among us and had but one request. Love. Love Him with the simplicity of a bonding, generational fellowship. A willing love so complete that its cleansing power over sin would be a constant show of gratification and affection. Paying humble homage, we exalt in His service. We praise His enduring mercy and seek to share our joy that others might be rewarded. Illustrating details carry a design to perfection.
If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. - 1 Jn 1:7-9
Origination is confounding to our earthly minds. His power, so great, invoked from an utterance a reality demonstrating a coexistence of matter, motion, and intent to a world that ceaselessly portrays His precision with beauty. Perfection in its finest form. Oh, the wonders we witness, we expound every day we steadfastly sing his praises. A completion, fullness, encompassing sustenance empowering the weakest soul can be drawn through His service. If we glorify Him through our will, we must be set against the void of faith. Let your light shine in this disheartening veil of a decaying world we peer from. And, emerge with fervor to press on through our thoughtful exchange in discourse, treatment, and consideration. We must strive to connect with our savior through the loving sacrifice of sinful exposure that would take us from His favor.
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. - 1 Cor 10:31
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men. - Col 3:23
With good will render service, as to the Lord, and not to men. - Eph 6:7
It is difficult to resist lust for pleasure. There will always be difficult decisions we must face. While instant gratification might at first appease, even seem right, it often opens the heart to a following sin. It is with thoughtful consideration a more proper devotion to our Father can always be found. As the Alpha and Omega, He is the Beginning and End. Why suffer with our own self-conviction through unfocused, polluting, and expelling manners? Nourishment and growth cannot begin until the fields are receptive to the light. Take peace, not fear, and know your Father’s omniscience, omnipotence, and eternal love.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. - Jer 29:11
We are but purposed for His glory.
- Ryan Griffith
An amateur photographer was invited to dinner with friends and took along a few pictures he had taken to show the hostess. She looked at the photos and commented, “These are good - you must have a very good camera!”
He didn’t reply, but later as he was leaving he said, “That was a really delicious meal - you must have some very good pots and pans!”
Pay to all what is owed to them . . . respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed. - Rom 13:7
