SECURITY

Security is something most people are concerned about. We hear the shout to secure our borders. We see security signs in the yards of many homes. The government spends mons upon millions to secure our nation. We have locks and alarms in our cars and houses. We do this for peace of mind.

But as soon as a new security system is developed, someone figures out how to get around it . No lock is as secure as we hope it will be. Unless! “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain” (Ps. 127:1). If God is not behind something, it will fail, no matter what it is. If God is not the one watching over something, it is not safe. If God does not protect the border, it will ultimately be breached. There is no security this side of Heaven!

Real security can only be found in a right relationship with God. One can experience the “peace of God, which…will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). In Christ is where salvation is found. By being “baptized into Christ” (Romans 6:3; Galatians 3:27), we enter into a security that only God can provide.

If your security is in any other source than God, you have no security. If your hope is anywhere other than Christ, you are without hope. Let us learn the lesson that absolute security is found only in God.

"Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Mt. 10:28.

Are You Ready?

A friend died today. I won't put the name so that I don't infringe on another's place. This pandemic makes it lonelier for his wife as we couldn't be at the hospital waiting to see if he would recover from his heart attack. We hurt and rejoice as love and hope teaches. The sky is blue and I am overwhelmed with the power of God that a single spirit can depart from this earth and pass through the sky and space, "to be with Christ" (Philippians 1:23). Then one day that same Christ will make the journey through the heavens back to our realm for our resurrection.

If you do not have this hope, and ability to rejoice, let me introduce you to Jesus. Let me know when you want to meet because my friend's exodus shows eternity is decided today. –Perry Hall
