Eli was the high priest of Israel. He was a good man, but his two sons were a different story: they were “worthless men” who “did not know the Lord” — that is, they did not respect God’s authority (1 Samuel 2:12). One of the intriguing stories of the book of Judges is the death of Abimelech, He murdered his rival brothers at Shechem and ruled Israel for three years. He got his just deserts when, while seeking to expand his dominion, he was killed by a woman at the city of Thebes.

I used to wonder how VBS got its name: Vacation Bible School. Having completed our 8th annual event, I’ve got a good idea now. When it’s over, you need a vacation!
Our 2022 VBS on “Share the Gospel” was a tremendous success for many reasons. First, the numbers speak for themselves. The attendance count was 165, 201 (new record), 179, and 179. There was considerable interest and enthusiasm all week long. Our people are to be commended for their support and for making certain their children and grandchildren were here.

Paul would have us realize that something fundamentally changed in us when we became obedient to the gospel of Christ and were baptized into Him according to His commandment. We are now a "new creation."

Facebook, of course, is the world's most popular social networking website. One of the features of Facebook is the ability to ‘like’ something that has been posted there by another user. Typically, to ‘like’ something means that you find it funny or agree with what is being said.
