No, this is not another warning of the dangers of Artificial Intelligence.
The apostle Paul wrote, “Whatever was written in earlier times was written
for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of
the Scriptures, we might have hope.” - Rom 15:4
Let’s go back and look at the story written in Joshua chapters 6 - 8. At the
beginning of the conquest of Canaan, God gave Jericho to Joshua and the
Israelites in an amazing manner. To…
AS DEATH NEARS
(By Joe R. Price)
Hospice care is designed to ease physical pain and suffering as death nears. It is a helpful service that offers dignity, palliative care, and comfort to the person approaching death, as well as their families.
Surprisingly, many people will not even talk about death, their own, or that of a loved one. Of course, that does not slow death's approach or prevent its arrival. Perhaps they convince themselves that by not thinking and talking about death they can avoid its encroachment. Or perhaps…
The Overflowing Love of God
If you've ever held a cup under a running faucet and watched as the water
spilled over, you've seen a simple representation of God's love for us.
Imagine that cup as our hearts and the faucet as God's eternal spring of
love. His love pours endlessly, and our cups … They overflow.
1 John 4:7-21 "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and
whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not
love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was
LIAR, LIAR!
(Ryan J. Thomas)
Did you know that the Bible is full of lies? It is! If you were to start reading in the book of Genesis all the way through to the book of Revelation you would have encountered the word "lie" or "liar" 168 times. So, it may surprise you to learn that the Bible does in fact contain lies. Now, I realize some folks say things like "the Bible has lies in it" in an effort to denounce the Bible and to put it on the level of merely…
Solomon said, “Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth” (Prov. 27:1). So uncertain is tomorrow that we dare not to trust our souls to it. If your soul is not right with the Lord, now is the time to do something about it. The apostle Paul said, “I have heard thee in…
Basically, our understanding of the Scriptures differs from the majority of the religious world because we operate on a different principle of interpretation. To most religious people "truth" is relative, adjusting…
DOES GOD'S WORD REALLY AFFECT YOUR LIFE?
(Dennis Abernathy)
A management axiom illustrates a spiritual truth that is important to keep in mind as we read and hear God's Word: "To look and hear is one thing. To see what you look at and hear is another. To understand what you see and hear is a third. To learn from what you hear and see and understand is something else. But to act on what you learn is all that really matters."
A lot of folks read, and hear God's…
Communications Error
A few days ago, my family went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant. There
we saw an interesting issue: although the menu was in English, and we’ve
been to Mexican restaurants before, there were Spanish words sprinkled
throughout that we had to look up on our phones. I’ve been to Spain,
Mexico, and other Spanish-speaking countries on vacation, and my brother
is taking Spanish in school, but still, there were words none of us could
remember or had ever seen before.
The ironic part: this is a problem unique to humanity! You could take any
two dogs from…
I often hear people talk about the promise that “God won’t give you more than you can handle.” While no passage of Scripture uses those words, these folks probably have in mind what Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10:13:
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
Is…
