Soon after Paul had established the cause of Christ in Galatia, Judaising teachers appeared and began their work of destruction. They insisted that Gentiles must be circumcised, must come to Christ via a Jewish route of law; and in their effort to overcome the truth Paul had taught they questioned his apostleship. I often hear people trying to establish right and wrong based on the wrong standard. Here are some examples:
Our Parents (Mt. 10:21, 34-37). As much as we should love and respect our parents, we cannot establish right and wrong on the basis of our parents alone.
Our Conscience (Acts 23:1; 26:9-11; 1 Tim. 1:12-13). Even though our conscience can be useful, we may still be wrong even though our conscience doesn't bother us. Paul had followed his conscience even when he was a persecutor.
Emotions & Feelings (Pr. 14:12; 28:26; Jer. 10:23). Just because something "feels"…

Some sage has wisely observed:
“We often speak of ourselves as those who are in the land of the living. In fact, we dwell in the land of the dying, and should be looking forward to someday entering the land of the living, who shall never die again.”
I like that statement! It is in harmony with what the Bible teaches. None of us would question the reality of our mortality. We know from both observation and from scripture that, “It is appointed unto men once to die” (Heb 9:27)

SOME OF THE DESIRES OF THOSE WHO FOLLOW CHRIST

The word "desire" involves a strong feeling of wanting something or wishing for something to happen (Webster). I find it interesting that there are 154 references to the word desire, 53 references to the word desired, and 42 references to the word desires in the Bible (NKJV). Some of them are in reference to what God desires for man. Many of them pertain to man and his desires---some good and some bad.
